Is it the music\, architecture\, food\, neighborhoods\, people… or something else entirely? \nJoin Downtown Long Beach Design District Poet-in-Residence Mike Sonksen\, aka Mike the Poet\, for a walking and writing workshop exploring the places\, stories\, and experiences that make up the 562. \nWe’ll meet at the CSULB Immersive Design Research Lab @ Mosaic before heading out on a roughly 45-minute walk through the Downtown Long Beach Design District\, taking in local architecture\, public spaces\, businesses\, and neighborhood landmarks along the way. On Saturday\, September 19\, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM\, our friends at Arts Council for Long Beach invite you to celebrate that rhythm for their 50th Anniversary Celebration at State of the Arts 2026! \nArtsLB was founded 50 years ago in 1976\, and this year they are excited to bring a high-energy 1970s theme to The Promenade Square Park in Downtown Long Beach. They are partnering with the DTLB Alliance to activate Promenade South during The DTLB Alliance’s EZ Sip Event\, which is hosted along The Promenade North. It’s going to be an authentic evening filled with art immersion\, local crafts\, and genuine community connection\, all completely free to attend. \nExperience the Best of Long Beach Culture: \n\nLBCC Art Vendors: Support local creators!
