DESCRIPTION:The final showcase will take place during the Art + Design Walk on Saturday\, February 8\, 2025\, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This event will transform Downtown Long Beach into a vibrant “Parking Day”-style showcase of creativity\, featuring installations\, live demonstrations\, and interactive exhibits from local creators.Call for Participation The DTLB Design District Council encourages local creators\, businesses\, designers\, and community members to respond to the prompt: “What do you make of Long Beach?” Submissions can include live demonstrations\, creative installations\, or interactive exhibits to be showcased during the Art + Design Walk. Those who wish to prototype and showcase a project must submit an Expression of Interest form by the January 10 deadline.

DESCRIPTION:Led by Heather Barker\, Professor of Design at CSULB this hands-on workshop will bring creators\, makers\, and community members together to test and build tactical urbanism interventions. \nParticipants will collaborate to develop prototypes that reflect the district’s unique creative energy. The final showcase will take place during the Art + Design Walk exhibition on February 8\, 2025\, where projects will come to life in a ‘Parking Day’-style outdoor showcase. \nBoth events are free and open to the public and all are welcome to attend. To RSVP for this event please register via our Eventbrite. \nIf you wish to prototype and showcase a project\, you must submit an Expression of Interest form by January 10th.
