It’s Not Just the Weather. It’s the Attitude
We partnered with Poster Territory on “10 Degrees Cooler,” a grassroots poster exhibition celebrating Long Beach’s creative spirit, style, and community. As a port city that exports culture to the world, Long Beach now sees that energy reflected back through both local and international perspectives. Through visually dynamic posters—scattered throughout various locations in the district, designers express what makes Long Beach cool, in both climate and attitude, capturing the city’s unique identity and creative edge.
Most recently, the Greeting Plaza of Long Beach Airport became the stage for 10 Degrees Cooler. The installation animates the arrival plaza with bold, dynamic works celebrating Long Beach’s cultural vibrancy and global reach. Positioned as the first encounter for more than 250,000 monthly travelers, the project reinforces the airport’s reputation as “America’s Coolest Airport™” while reflecting the city’s creative spirit on a world stage.
The Long Beach Civic Center Welcome Plaza is also featuring the exhibition on the ground-floor digital screens at City Hall. This highly visible installation demonstrates the City’s continued support for Long Beach’s creative economy. It also reflects the leadership of Mayor Rex Richardson and his administration’s commitment to embedding culture, design, and public art into the heart of civic life. By placing design in these key spaces, the initiative affirms that creativity is an essential part of how Long Beach defines and expresses itself.
We received more than 400 submissions from over 31 countries.
The selected works represent a broad spectrum of local, national, and international voices. Together, they create a compelling visual conversation about Long Beach as a port city, a diverse cultural hub, and a community shaped by exchange and creativity.
