State of The Arts

There is a distinct rhythm that makes Long Beach unique: it’s the sound of community, the color of our streets, and the legendary artists born and raised here in our neighborhoods. On Saturday, September 19, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, our friends at Arts Council for Long Beach invite you to celebrate that rhythm for their 50th Anniversary Celebration at State of the Arts 2026!

ArtsLB was founded 50 years ago in 1976, and this year they are excited to bring a high-energy 1970s theme to The Promenade Square Park in Downtown Long Beach. They are partnering with the DTLB Alliance to activate Promenade South during The DTLB Alliance’s EZ Sip Event, which is hosted along The Promenade North. It’s going to be an authentic evening filled with art immersion, local crafts, and genuine community connection, all completely free to attend.

Experience the Best of Long Beach Culture:

• LBCC Art Vendors: Support local creators! Students from Long Beach City College will be on-site selling their original artwork.
• Dance & Mingle: Dance to classic 70s tracks and connect with neighbors, civic leaders, and creators.
• Sip & Support: Enjoy the downtown atmosphere! State of the Arts is taking place right alongside the DTLB Live! EZ Sip event on the Promenade. While they are two separate events, you can grab a drink at our bars to enjoy as you walk through. Note: We generate vital funding from our drink sales, so every beverage purchased directly sustains local arts programming!
