Back Door Poetry brings an afternoon of live poetry, spoken word, and storytelling. Curated and hosted by Downtown Long Beach Design District poet-in-residence Mike Sonksen (Mike the Poet), the event brings together some of the city’s leading poets, including Librecht Baker, Adolfo Guzman-Lopez, Hector Jimenez, Christian Lozada, Danielle Mitchell, Philosophy, and Nancy Lynee Woo, plus a surprise guest or two. Celebrating the people, places, and stories that make Long Beach unique, the gathering transforms the studio’s back patio into an intimate space for poetry, community, and creative exchange.
