United States International Poster Biennial (USIPB)
October 27, 2026 - February 28, 2027

We’re happy to share that our partner, the United States International Poster Biennial (USIPB), has opened its 2027 Open Call for posters!
Held every two years, USIPB is a global competition highlighting cultural, social, academic, and professional principles through poster design. The biennial celebrates groundbreaking and influential work from designers around the world, and entries are now open.
This time, we have five different categories for submission:
- Category A /SOCIAL
This category explores the social issues, human experiences, and challenges shaping our world today. Posters may raise awareness, provoke dialogue, question existing systems, or inspire action around topics that affect people and communities locally and globally. - Category B / CULTURAL
This category celebrates the ways culture shapes how we see, communicate, and connect with one another. Posters may explore art, music, heritage, identity, traditions, events, or other forms of cultural expression that reflect the richness and diversity of human experience. - Category C / MOTION
This category expands the traditional poster into a time-based and digital format. Posters may use movement, animation, typography, sound, and other dynamic elements to create experiences that communicate through both visual form and motion. - Category D / CHICAGO 190
Created in collaboration with the Design Museum of Chicago, this category marks 190 years of Chicago through interpretations of the city from diverse perspectives. Posters may explore its history, architecture, communities, culture, innovation, contradictions, and the many identities that continue to shape Chicago. - Category E / UNITED THROUGH SPORTS
This category celebrates Los Angeles as a global city brought together through sport. Posters may explore how competition, community, culture, diversity, and shared experiences connect people across the city and reflect the energy and international spirit of Los Angeles.
Deadline: February 28, 2027
