October 11 @ 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Art + Design Walk
October 11 | Downtown Long Beach (Mosaic Promenade, Studio One Eleven, ISM Brewing, and Design District sites) 2-7pm

Experience Downtown Long Beach transformed into a vibrant, walkable gallery celebrating art, design, and community. This year’s Art + Design Walk features exhibitions, pop-ups, and live activations citywide. At its core is the U.S. International Poster Biennial, showcasing 200+ posters from 12,000 global submissions – on display across Downtown and Long Beach Airport. Presented by the DTLB Alliance and DTLB Design District, this free event celebrates innovation, culture, and creative connection in the heart of the city.

Featured Exhibitions + Activations

  • ISM Brewery: 10 Degrees Cooler exhibition paired with the launch of a brand-new 10 Degrees Cooler beer label.

“It Takes a Village”

This year’s Art + Design Walk presents “It Takes a Village,” an evolution of the event’s long-standing artist village. Rooted in the spirit of community-building, it highlights how Long Beach’s creative community grows stronger together, each participant adding their voice to a larger collective story. The showcase on the Mosaic Promenade brings together makers, designers, and visionaries through sales, displays, and interactive experiences that reflect the city’s collaborative energy. Highlights include:

  • Design Scavenger Hunt by Raphael Sisa, Susie Chang, and Gamal Prather: an immersive, phone-free exploration of posters and city sites, turning the Art+Design Walk into a community-wide adventure.
  • People’s Architecture Office: popup activation blending architecture and community engagement.
  • Kathy Lin + LBC Hero Squad popup + Dreamy Vegan: The Calm Pod is a sensory-rich, sustainable retreat offering families a moment to pause and reconnect. In partnership with the LBC Hero Squad—champions of neurodiversity—the activation adds artist-designed tees, resources, and playful, inclusive touches for Long Beach families. Dreamy Vegan, a plant-based ice cream brand that brings back the joy of childhood nostalgia in a fun and whimsical way, will also be part of the experience.
  • Culture Cart: Popping up with mobile vibes and tours across DTLB, Culture Cart is a Black-owned, women-led micro-mobility startup based in Long Beach. Offering zero-emission pedicab services, they promote sustainability, community, and economic empowerment.
  • Arts LB: Rolling up with their signature artsy van, Arts LB will bring interactive art, community engagement, and creative surprises to Ocean & Promenade, adding color and energy to the streetscape.
  • Music and DJs scattered throughout Downtown to keep the energy flowing.
